About GT

A founder-led deep-tech startup building the next generation of autonomous maritime platforms from the ground up.

The Person Behind the Platform

Corbin Gustafson
Corbin Gustafson
Founder — Gustafson Technologies LLC

My name is Corbin Gustafson. I am an Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Central Florida. I have hands-on experimental test engineering experience in hypersonic propulsion and autonomous systems. My research background includes rotating detonation engine and scramjet ignition systems at UCF's Propulsion and Energy Research Laboratory.

I founded Gustafson Technologies to address a fundamental gap in maritime operations. Legacy systems rely on large, expensive platforms that concentrate capability into a single point of failure, an increasingly unacceptable risk in contested environments. Advances in autonomous systems have changed the calculus. The ability to mass-produce inexpensive, mission-specific autonomous surface vehicles unlocks a new operational paradigm: distributed, resilient, and scalable maritime presence that legacy architectures simply cannot achieve.

Gustafson Technologies is positioned to become a significant player in the autonomous maritime market, serving as a self-contained node in the rapidly growing IoT architecture being built by major defense contractors. Our comparative advantage lies in the ability to rapidly prototype, iterate, and produce mission-specific vehicles at scale. Over the next three to five years, the goal is to build Gustafson Technologies into a vertically integrated manufacturer, owning every step of the process from raw material to finished product. In an era where supply chains can no longer be taken for granted, the ability to surge production independently and rapidly is not a luxury. It is a strategic necessity.

Why We Exist

The Future of Maritime Operations is Autonomous. Gustafson Technologies is making that a reality.

Our Approach

We subscribe to a build-first philosophy. Simulation and analysis have their place, but nothing reveals the true failure modes of a system faster than actually building and testing it. Every prototype teaches lessons that no model can predict. The goal is to compress the learning cycle as aggressively as possible and let real-world data drive the design forward.

What Sets GT Apart

  • Ground-up design optimized for autonomous operation — not a retrofitted RC boat
  • Open, modular architecture that accommodates any mission payload
  • Founder with deep hands-on hardware and software development experience
  • GNSS-denied navigation is a core design requirement, not an afterthought
